Work Philosophy:

I am approachable and willing to just have a chat about your concerns. I believe in providing high quality client and family centered services focused on achieving meaningful outcomes for you. I particularly enjoy assessing needs and developing programmes to achieve goals that are personally relevant. All clients are unique and families require an individualized service.
Physiotherapists are routinely audited to evaluate their Continued Professional Development activities and I was audited in March 2012. Board feedback states “Deborah shows a strong commitment to ongoing Professional Development”

Deborah completed her Diploma of Physiotherapy at AUT in 1982 and quickly specialised in neurology and paediatrics at Auckland Hospital. Demonstrating a strong commitment to professional development I completed Bobath Training in 1987, Bobath Refresher course in 2001 and Bobath Early Assessment and Intervention with Babies and Young Children Course in 2003.

Traumatic Brain Injury experience and training was gained at Auckland Hospital and in the community in private practice.

In Feb 1998 I established a private practice providing community based rehabilitation for children birth to 16 yrs following moderate to severe Traumatic Brain Injury. This practice was incorporated in 2001 and commenced operation as Paediatric Rehabilitation Services Ltd, a community based multidisciplinary rehabilitation team offering services to ACC and private clients. PRS now also provides assessment services for Adult ACC clients.
