Janet specialises in Therapy programs and assessments for children.
I thoroughly enjoy identifying the particular challenges each individual child presents with and being part of a team that can help a parent understand their child’s abilities and assist their child reach their true potential through activities, play and fun. My experiences raising two teenage daughters helps me to understand the many challenges that parents and children alike face in this ever changing world!
Janet completed her Diploma of Occupational Therapy, School of Occupational Therapy, NZ Central Institute of Technology in 1985.
I have worked with children as an Occupational Therapist for over 25 years and have a broad range of Paediatric experience including acute hospital to community services. I enjoy offering assessment and intervention programmes for a wide range of children including pre-mature babies, preschoolers, school age pupils and secondary school teenagers. I have a special interest in the development of pre-term infants, hand skill acquisition, attention, and sensory regulation and play skill development. I have worked for PRS since 1994 providing a community rehab service for a wide range of children following serious brain injury including early rehab following discharge from hospital, reintegration back into kindy, school or college and problem solving beside parents and teachers to enable a high level of participation in every day family activities.
