Work Philosophy

I am always looking for a new challenge and opportunities to extend my Occupational therapy skills and reinvigorate my working life. I want to provide my clients, their families and whanau with the best possible occupational therapy interventions and outcomes.  I have a keen interest in providing functional participation through use of assistive technology and early intervention. I advocate strongly for early independent mobility through provision of power wheelchairs and use of augmentative and alternative communication systems. I am efficient and hardworking; I pride myself on my ability to work collaboratively but can also work effectively solo.

Mahoney completed her Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) at AUT. She then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Practice in 2012.

Work History

Mahoney initially worked with older adults in UK and NZ for 3 years before working at Carlson School for Cerebral Palsy for 9 years.
