Sue specialises in Support Needs Assessments for adults.
Every person has the right to live rich and fulfilling lives, and participate in the life of their families and communities as fully as possible. My job is to find out what that means for each individual, and then assist them to achieve it.
Sue completed her Diploma of Physiotherapy at AUT in 1978.
Over 12 years at Carlson School for Cerebral Palsy, Epsom, before working with PRS. This included assessment and provision of therapy programmes, hands on therapy, wheelchair and equipment provision, and working within interdisciplinary teams. Prior to this I worked in obstetrics, a rehabilitation centre, and community based therapy. I completed Bobath training in 2005 and Advanced Bobath course in 2009. I completed Level 2 Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management accreditation in 2011.
Since 2002 I have been working with children with disabilities in India, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji and Tonga, and founded Altus Resource Trust in 2004.This trust sends NZ therapists into the Pacific Islands to work with children and adults with disabilities, shipping wheelchairs etc as needed. Also the mother of four young adults, which heightens understanding of the individual and often complex needs each person has.
